The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, led a delegation of ABORNE Conference members on a visit to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nanna Nandap.
The visit was part of the preparatory engagements for the hosting of the African Borderlands Research Network (ABORNE) Conference in 2026. Discussions centered on key collaborations, security, and immigration-related aspects crucial to the success of the conference, which will bring together experts and stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.
Among the entourage was Dr. Willie Eselebor, Founder of Universal Research and Training Institute (URTI). The visit was part of preparations for the ABORNE Conference 2026, aimed at strengthening collaborations on border security, migration research, and regional development.
URTI remains committed to fostering academic research, training, and partnerships that enhance borderland studies and migration discourse in Africa.
